Congratulations to International Studies major Maria Osman on being awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship! Maria will be studying next fall in Jordan on SIT's Refugee, Health, and Humanitarian Action program.

University of Iowa international studies alumna Holly Harris (Fall 2021) has been awarded a 2022-23 Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship Award to be an English teaching assistant at a university in Brazil.

Students in Dr. Peter Gerlach's course IS:3012 (Community Engaged Learning with Refugees and Immigrants in Iowa) partnered with local nonprofits to host a community donation drive on May 11th, 2022. The drive provided gently used clothing and household items to support local immigrant and refugee populations.
