What is your current work?

I am an Academic Advisor for Neuroscience and Health & Human Physiology majors at the University of Iowa. In this position, I work with undergraduate students to assist them with their academic and career related goals. I meet with students each day to discuss requirements and policies, create their plan to graduation, identify extracurricular opportunities, and discuss strategies for success in and out of the classroom. My favorite part of this position is when I see my students achieve success – getting into a graduate school program, landing a job, and more!

What is your advice for current students?

My advice for current IS students is to take advantage of the many opportunities available to you during your time at Iowa! I studied abroad in Rome, interned in Washington DC, joined student organizations, worked at the College of Law, and more. These opportunities were so valuable because they helped me narrow down what I was looking for in a career and what steps I could take to pursue it. They also helped me gain more confidence in my abilities as a young professional.
