What is your current work?

Since January 2021, I've been in Taipei, Taiwan as a Fulbright ETA. I feel very lucky to be living and teaching in Taiwan where, thanks to the government's response around COVID, life is essentially 'normal'. Highlights include getting to know my elementary students, traveling around the country, eating delicious food, and being immersed in a Mandarin language environment.

Any advice for current IS students?

I'm sure you're desperate to travel abroad or perhaps even out of the state again but in the meantime focus on what you can control (reading, educating yourself on any and everything, connecting virtually with outside communities and even local communities working in your field(s), studying language, etc.) and plan for the day when you can go abroad.
