Friday, March 8, 2019

Greetings from The University of Iowa College of Law. I am writing to invite you to the Law Bridge at the College of Law on Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30, 2019.

The Law Bridge Program is designed to introduce diverse students to law school.  Throughout the one and a half day program, you will learn what it’s like to be a law student, how to develop the strongest application possible, and what a law school class is like by taking a mock class.  You will learn the best ways to write with clarity, and factors you should consider as you apply to law schools.

You will be assigned to a team to work on a project with one of the law school's professors or a local practicing attorney. You will receive reading before the program that you must finish before the program begins. You will use this reading to work on your assigned group project. You will end the weekend by presenting, along with your teammates, your resolution of the assigned project. Traditionally students have enjoyed these final presentations. You will leave with a great sense of accomplishment from what you learned and did.

There is no cost to you. We will provide dinner on Friday night and meals on Saturday.
